We breed fine, healthy stock through open range grazing, organic and natural nuturition. Hands on nurturing gives our cattle that extra special something.
History was made this past weekend at the Legacy II Sale
where a Texas Longhorn cow sold for therecord breaking bid of $100,000. Only minutes later a cow sold for $150,000!There were 100 excellent cows consigned to the sale. Ours was positioned at Lot #96.We were a little nervous with that placement but were reassured by other breedersthat a good cow sells well no matter what. And so she did.
Joy Ann was among the highest selling lots, bringing $50,000 at theLegacy II Longhorn Sale 18 March, Fort Worth, Texas.Joy Ann was born September 2, 1997. sire: Gunman x dam: J.R. Joyful.A great example of Ron Jones breeding, we've owned Joy Ann since she was 5 months old. She has raised 5 excellent calves for us. We are retaining the heifer at side, above. Victoria Joy, sired by Tin Horn, is 19 months old. Joy Ann's heifers have always been in demand. Ron Jones and Kent Bladen have one each. Her first bull calf is a herd sire for Larry Barker of Johnstown, Colorado. We have retained her second son. Butch & Kelly Guerin have successfully done our embryo work at their Mountain Creek Ranch in Saint Jo, Texas.
above: Joy Ann's 2 Emperor embryo heifers and one of the recip cows.
Left: Whisper's Eve, born December 24, 2005.
Right: Whisper's Empress, born December 17, 2005, looks a lot like Joy Ann.We are expecting an Awesome Viagra embryo calf in August.
The view from our front porch!
Please pray for America and our troops!
